Simple Tips for Eliminating Skin Tags
I’m sure at some point you’ve wondered how to remove skin tags, which are pesky growths that might make you feel unattractive at times.
First, you need to become clear on why you want to remove the tag. You may not know that skin tags are actually benign, meaning they are totally harmless and not cancerous.
In fact, physicians and other skin specialists do not recommend the removal of these growths unless a patient insists on it.
There are good reasons to remove them, however. One, is that a tag could continually be snagged on a piece of jewelry or clothing and cause you mild discomfort and soreness. This usually is enough of a reason for a doctor to remove the tag.
Furthermore, sometimes they can cause us to feel uncomfortable for cosmetic reason, which is perfectly normal.
In either case, if you decide to have one or more of your tags removed, then you may want to start at your local health food store. Meaning, several vitamins and herbs have proven ideal for totally removing skin tags, including tea tree oil, bloodroot and vitamin E.
There is one disadvantage of taking the natural approach to getting rid of these growths. There is no clear way of knowing how long it takes to dissolve the tags. If you choose to go this route, then you will probably have to wait about three or four weeks to finally be rid of it.
There are also many over the counter products that are specifically formulated to remove various skin growths, including tags. In fact, if you read the labels on some of these products, you’ll find they’re mostly comprised of natural ingredients, including some that I’ve already mentioned.
That being said, it is important for you to do some research to find out which option is cheaper between buying each ingredient individually as opposed to buying one product that has all the ingredients.
If you do not know how to remove skin tags, you may want to consider visiting your doctor.
The doctor can remove the tag in any number of ways, though they usually cut it off with a scalpel or surgical scissors. This approach is great because it’s relatively painless and the healing time is short.
A doctor might also decide to use complex procedures such as cryotherapy and electro-surgery. In this techniques temperature extremes on opposite ends of the spectrum are utilized.
More specifically, cryotherapy uses freezing cold temperatures to kill the skin cells in the skin tags while electro-surgery uses heat to burn skin cells in the tags.
